Stefania Tsikandilakis pharmacy in Crete

10 May 2017

Wood, black and linear simplicity: the perfect combination for this pharmacy in Crete designed by Lefteris Tsikandilakis.

Walking around Heraklion you will be impressed by this amazing pharmacy. It doesn’t actually seem to be a pharmacy in Crete, but rather a shop with a modern interior design. The black color of the imposing exterior facade draws the attention of people passing by, while allowing seamless viewing inward.

At first glance you notice the freshness atmosphere created by the mix of wood and teal wall color. Black metal simple structures supporting wooden shelves emphasize the modern style of the interior design. They are mounted left and right of the interior corridor and lengthen the space visually.

A strip of patterned tiles interrupts the timber on the floor and becomes a sort of elegant pathway leading from the entrance to the service counter. The wood connects all the elements, while black items stand out against the walls and give rhythm to the space. The teal color on the walls and the white ceiling illuminate the pharmacy. They balance too the hardness of the metal to highlight the products.

The purpose of the designer Lefteris Tsikandilakis was the creation of a modern and young pharmacy in Crete, that reflects the dynamic character of the young owner, but also include all those classic elements typical of her father.
