Nemo lights up Paris with its new showroom
Nemo is an Italian company, famous around the world for its high-design lighting solutions. With masterpieces of renowned designers such as Carlo Forcolini, Jehs + Laub, Javier Mariscal, Karim Rashid, Ilaria Marelli, Foster + Partners, Hannes Wettstein and Roberto Paoli, it was only a matter of time before the brand opened its first showroom in the French capital. And that moment has arrived. Opened in January, Nemo’s showroom is located at Rue du Bac 19, and, as stated by the brand itself, the glory days of Art Deco have greatly inspired the project, signed by Charles Kalpakian.
The showroom consists of a single space divided into several areas. A walking path that leads to the internal garden. The minimalist furniture, including a living room table and a wooden reading corner, are aimed at accentuating the different lighting elements, both suspended and wall-mounted.
Although the predominant color is white, both for the walls and for the powerful lights, there is no shortage of colorful elements able to catch the eye. These include bright elements, such as the large, gold-colored chandelier that welcomes visitors as they enter the door. In addition to the equally pleasant and colorful lighting systems, there is a pastel pink wall and a vertical panel of an intense blue, attenuated by the glass door to which it is placed to its side.
The blue also acts as a visual anchor, as it leads the visitor’s eye towards the door to the internal garden, where the exhibition continues with the “Borne Béton” lamp by Le Corbusier.
